Turn an Existing Deck into an Interactive Course

Upload a .pptx — your old training deck — and Kompyl returns a redesigned deck plus quiz + flashcards + guide.

Most teams have a "good enough" deck sitting in SharePoint that nobody loves but everybody re-uses. Kompyl ingests the existing .pptx, extracts the structure, redesigns the slides with a chosen palette, and assembles a complete course kit around the deck — quiz, flashcards, facilitator guide.

What Kompyl actually returns

Source preview: AI Course Generator from PowerPoint

Module 3

Information Security 101

Source: 2019 InfoSec deck → redesigned in palette "Midnight"

Three classes of incident

  • Phishing — credential theft via spoofed comms.
  • Data exfiltration — sensitive data leaving the perimeter.
  • Lost / stolen device — physical control of an endpoint lost.
  • Each maps to a different response runbook (see Module 4).

Takeaway

Speaker notes preserved

100%

of the original notes carried into the facilitator guide

Your trainer's commentary lives on, attached to the matching new slide.

What this means in practice

  • Native .pptx support — your slide text + speaker notes survive.
  • Slides are redesigned to one of 17 palettes (Cream, Midnight, Corporate, EduBubble, Luma, …).
  • Quiz pulls from the speaker-notes facts where they exist.
  • Output bundles back to a fresh PPTX + ZIP with quiz / flashcards / guide.

Common questions

Do my original images and animations survive?
Text on slides and speaker notes are extracted verbatim and seed the new deck. Visual assets (images, charts, animations) are NOT carried over — Kompyl rebuilds each slide using its own designer system so the output looks consistent. If you need a 1:1 visual port, use the dashboard editor to drop images back into specific slides post-generation.
Can Kompyl use my existing slide deck as a "voice/style" reference?
Not yet — the designer pipeline picks from 17 fixed palettes. Brand-fingerprint mode (match company colors + fonts from an uploaded sample deck) is on the roadmap for Q3.
What is an AI course generator?
An AI course generator is a tool that turns a document, brief, or topic into a structured online course — typically including slides, a quiz, and supporting study material — in a single workflow. The goal is to compress what used to be 8–20 hours of instructional design into a few minutes of upload + review.
How is Kompyl different from Gamma or HeyGen?
Gamma generates slides. HeyGen generates avatar video. Kompyl generates a complete course kit — slides plus a quiz, flashcards, a study guide, and a facilitator guide — all from one upload. You can edit every block, swap palettes, change languages, and re-render.
Can I upload a PDF and get a course back?
Yes — Kompyl accepts PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, MD, HTML, and CSV uploads. Scanned PDFs are OCR'd via vision AI automatically. The PDF is read, structured into modules, and rendered as a multi-slide deck with a matching quiz and facilitator guide.
Is there a free version?
Yes — anonymous visitors get a free preview and signed-in free accounts get a small monthly quota. Paid plans unlock larger course lengths, more downloads, and premium palettes.
